A special scientific session reviewing the very best of research presented in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism (JCEM) will begin at 9:30 AM today in Room 7 of the convention center.
This three-hour inaugural session will feature 10 oral presentations that cover the breadth of endocrinology. You will hear about clinical research in female reproduction, bone and calcium metabolism, diabetes, male reproduction, genetics, obesity, clinical trials, thyroid, pituitary, and adrenal. In each case the material presented was chosen from original manuscripts published in the past year. These manuscripts received the highest scores in their respective areas during the peer-review process for publication.
The speakers will review their work and update their studies with more recent, unpublished information. The purpose is both educational and congratulatory. The audience will see information from areas of endocrinology they might not regularly read. The presentations will be given for the most part by the first authors who will represent their scientific teams. Each of the 10 presentations will last 15 minutes with no questions. There will be a 30-minute question and answer period for all presenters at the end of the last presentation. Please come to update your personal knowledge of endocrinology in its broadest sense and help celebrate the new clinical science and young investigators you will hear.
